Prayer & Care

Prayer and care describe how the church attends to one another through seasons of life.

At The Well, prayer and care are not reserved for moments of crisis alone; they are our ministry foundations woven into the everyday relationships of the church and shaping how we listen, respond, and remain present with one another over time. We believe care is not something done to people, but something shared among people as we learn to walk together faithfully.

Prayer & Care exist to ensure that no one carries life alone.

Care

Much of the church’s care happens naturally and relationally.

As people gather, share meals, pray together, and remain present in one another’s lives, care often emerges organically. Needs are noticed. Burdens are shared. Joys are celebrated. Suffering is named and accompanied rather than avoided or rushed. This kind of care is not formal or scripted. It is rooted in attentiveness, trust, and time. Groups, friendships, and ordinary church relationships become spaces where people are known and supported as life unfolds.

We believe this shared, everyday care is foundational to the health and maturity of the church.

Prayer

Prayer is central to how care is offered and received.

In prayer, the church turns together toward God—bringing before Him our joys, griefs, questions, and needs. Prayer teaches us dependence, shapes our hope, and reminds us that care ultimately flows from God’s presence with His people.

Prayer is not a performance or formula, but a shared posture of trust. It happens in gatherings, in groups, and in quiet moments between people who are learning to carry one another before God with honesty and compassion.

Pastoral Care

At times, care requires more focused attention.

The pastors of The Well offer pastoral care and counsel for individuals, couples, and families navigating seasons of transition, suffering, or discernment. This care is rooted in Scripture, prayer, and thoughtful listening, and seeks to help people attend to God’s work in their lives with wisdom and patience. Pastoral care is not separate from the life of the church, it is an extension of the care already being offered in the everyday relationships within the church.

Capacity for Care

As the church matures and its capacity grows, we anticipate developing more formal avenues of Christian care and biblical counseling. This future work is envisioned not as a departure from relational care, but as both a deepening and a broadening of it.

By deepening, we mean growing in wisdom, competency, and faithfulness, becoming better equipped to walk with people through more complex needs and over longer periods of time. This includes offering more focused pastoral care and, eventually, structured forms of Christian care rooted in Scripture, prayer, and careful discernment.

By broadening, we mean extending care beyond the immediate life of the church as an expression of love for our neighbors. As God provides opportunity and capacity, we hope to offer care to the wider community not as a replacement for the church’s shared life, but as an outward expression of it.

We seek to grow in care thoughtfully and responsibly, honoring both the limits of the church and the real needs people carry. In this way, care remains faithful, sustainable, and shaped by love.

An Invitation

Prayer & Care are offered freely, without requirement of theological agreement or membership commitment. You do not need to be in crisis to ask for prayer or support, nor do you need the right words. Needs vary across seasons, and care takes many forms. We welcome you to share your burdens with us.

As a young church, we seek to offer care thoughtfully and within our capacity. When care is needed beyond what can be offered at a given moment, we are committed to walking with people toward wise and appropriate support.

If you find yourself in a season where prayer, conversation, or pastoral counsel would be meaningful, you are invited to reach out:
