Beliefs and Approach

Christian faith is not only experienced; it is confessed. What we believe shapes how we worship, how we live, and how we understand God’s work in the world.

At The Well, our beliefs establish the theological boundaries that guide our teaching, leadership, and community life under the lordship of Jesus Christ. We hold these beliefs with conviction, because truth revealed by God is not ours to reshape, and with humility, because faith is meant not only to be affirmed but to form us over time.

Our Beliefs

Historic Confession

The Well Church is a Christian church standing in continuity with the historic Christian faith. At the center of our faith is the good news of Jesus Christ’s birth, death, burial, resurrection, ascension, and return. We affirm the core doctrines confessed by Christians throughout history and rooted in Scripture: the Triune nature of God, the authority and sufficiency of Scripture, the creation and fall of humanity, salvation by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone, the life and mission of the Church, and the sure hope of the renewal of all things.

We are non-denominational in structure and evangelical in conviction. Theologically, we are shaped by a Reformed emphasis on the sovereignty of God in salvation and the authority of Scripture, while also affirming the ongoing presence and work of the Holy Spirit in the life of the Church. These commitments guide our preaching, teaching, leadership, and care.

Our Approach

Humble Conviction

Because our beliefs are meant to shape life, not remain abstract, we seek to live them out through a way of Christian living together. We gather for worship and prayer, listen carefully to Scripture, practice care for one another, and encourage faithfulness in the ordinary rhythms of work, family, and community.

We hold our convictions firmly while extending grace generously. Our beliefs are not used as weapons or barriers, but as anchors giving shape and stability to our ministry while inviting ongoing learning, repentance, and growth. Our aim is not to perfect a system, but to cultivate a church marked by attentiveness to God and charity toward one another.

Statement of Faith

An Open Invitation

All are welcome to come and be present at The Well. You do not need to have everything figured out, agree with every point of doctrine, or know where you stand to gather with us. We believe God often meets people before clarity arrives, and that presence itself can be an act of honesty and openness before Him.

As relationships deepen, shared convictions begin to matter more. Those who discern a desire for deeper belonging, responsibility, or leadership within the church are invited to engage more thoughtfully with the theological commitments that guide our life together. We do not assume a full or immediate embrace of every conviction, but we do anticipate a growing alignment marked by trust, humility, and faith.

The invitation to gather, listen, and be present remains open. The call to belong and to lead is received over time, in step with mutual trust and the care of the community.
