Why “The Well”?

Throughout Scripture, wells are places of encounter, provision, and return. They are ordinary places where people slow down, draw deeply, and return again because life depends on them.

In the Gospels, Jesus meets people at wells and speaks of living water that reaches beneath appearances and addresses the deeper thirst of the human heart. These encounters are unhurried and personal. Jesus meets people as they are and stays with them long enough for truth and grace to surface.

We chose the name The Well because it reflects what we are seeking to become: a place of faithful return. Not a stage to perform on, but a place to draw from. Not a destination to arrive at, but a community learning to abide, remaining near to Christ and receiving life from Him.

Who We Are

  • We are learning to magnify God by being and making followers of Jesus...

    To magnify God is to order our life together so that His presence, character, and purposes become clearer among us. We use the word learning intentionally. We are not claiming arrival, but committing ourselves to a way of life shaped by ongoing dependence on God.

    Being and making are not separate efforts. We believe discipleship happens most faithfully through a life that abides in God and loves others. As we are being formed, we also participate in the formation of others. As God shapes us, He sends us, convinced that our need for God is to be made known beyond ourselves.

  • ...pursuing maturity and health.

    When we speak of maturity, we mean lives increasingly shaped by love, wisdom, and obedience. When we speak of health, we mean people learning to live honestly before God in body, soul, and relationship.

    We hope to become a people who deeply and wholly care for one another while humbly and warmly inviting others to experience the kindness of God.

    This vision is not something we expect to achieve quickly. It is one we pursue faithfully, trusting God to bring fruit in His time.

What Matters Most

  • Simplicity

    Spiritual formation happens most deeply through ordinary, faithful practices. Simplicity protects us from distraction and from mistaking busyness for fruitfulness.

  • Honesty

    Truth is where growth and healing begin. Honesty invites us to live openly before God and one another, without pretense or performance.

  • Humility

    The life of a Christian is one of dependence, not self-assurance. Humility keeps us teachable and attentive to God and others.

  • Charity

    Love is the measure of maturity. Charity chooses patience and generosity, especially where differences or tensions exist.

  • Ministry

    Christian life and service is shared, not reserved for a few. Ministry invites participation as God gives gifts and opportunities to serve.

  • Activity

    Following Jesus leads to faithful action. Activity flows from abiding with Christ rather than striving apart from Him.

Beliefs & Approach

  • Historic Confession

    The Well Church is a Christian church standing in continuity with the historic Christian faith. At the center of our faith is the good news of Jesus Christ’s birth, death, burial, resurrection, ascension, and return. We are non-denominational in structure and evangelical in conviction, holding to the confessed doctrines of historical Christianity. Theologically, we are shaped by a Reformed emphasis on the sovereignty of God in salvation and the authority of Scripture, while also affirming the ongoing presence and work of the Holy Spirit in the life of the Church. These commitments guide our preaching, teaching, leadership, and care.

  • Humble Conviction

    Beliefs are meant to shape how we live, not remain abstract. Our beliefs inform why and how we gather for worship and prayer, listen to Scripture, care for one another, and encourage faithfulness in the ordinary rhythms of work, family, and community. We hold our convictions firmly while extending grace generously. Our beliefs are not used as weapons or barriers, but as anchors giving shape and stability to our ministry while inviting ongoing learning, repentance, and growth. Our aim is not to perfect a system, but to cultivate a church marked by attentiveness to God and charity toward one another.
